Starkey Williams, Jr.

Mr. Starkey Williams, age 67, of Wilson, NC was called to eternal rest on Monday, January 27, 2020.  A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church, 6211 East Langley Road, Elm City.  Dr. Charlie Williams will deliver the eulogy, and Rev. Mark Johnson will preside.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

His legacy of love and kindness will be cherished by his family and friends. He is survived by, three sons, Reco Mercer (Tyneka) of Elizabethtown, NC, Chrishone Williams of Sharpsburg, NC, and Starkey Williams, III of Wilson, NC; one daughter, Datwan Liles of Wilson, NC; nine grandchildren, KhyRen Mercer of Elizabethtown, NC, Jada and Yasmin Liles of Wilson, NC, Malachi Williams of Raleigh, NC, Jahsiah Williams, Chirshone Williams Jr., Carter Williams, and Carmelo Williams all of Sharpsburg, NC, and Keiona Artis of Winston Salem, NC; five brothers, Dr. Charlie Williams (Elder Vere), Roosevelt Williams (Pearlie) all of Wilson, NC, Harry Williams (Rev. Velecia) of Elm City, NC, Perry Williams of Morehead, NC, and James Williams of Wilson, NC; three sisters, Dorothy Hyman (Leon), Annibelle Ballard and Daisy Renfrow (Raymond) all of Wilson, NC; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A viewing will be held Friday, January 31, 2020 from 3 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home, 726 South Tarboro Street, Wilson.  The family is receiving friends at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Renfrow, 3354 NC Highway 42 West, Wilson and will assemble there at 10 am on Saturday in preparation for the funeral procession.  Please keep the Williams family in prayer in the days and weeks to come.  Condolences may be directed to carronsfuneralhome.com or faxed to 252.237.0120.  They may also be emailed to carronsfuneralhome@gmail.com.
