Pearlie Mae Neal, 85, of Wilson, passed away Feb. 12, 2016. A celebration of her life and work will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. Therese Catholic Church, 700 Nash St. NE., Wilson. Father Gregory Lowchy will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
She was born April 28, 1930, the daughter of the late William and Fannie Boykin Clark, of Wilson. Pearl as she was fondly called transitioned on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie Lee “Jabo” Neal Sr. They were married 44 years. To this union seven children were born.
Loving memories are forever cherished by her children, Elaine M. Raby (Stuart) of Worthington, Ohio, Lola Ann Powell of Columbus, Ohio, Willie L. Neal Jr. (Teresa) of Greenville, Patricia Neal of the home, Glenda J. Willis (Kerry) of Pink Hill, and Kenneth Neal (Rhonda) of Rochester, New York; three sisters, Hildred Lucas and Edith R. McKeller (James), all of Wilson, and Jennette Griffin of Bear, Delaware; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; in-laws, Lewis and Tina Neal, Marvin and Deborah Neal, Milton and Carolyn Neal, Willie and Crystal Neal, James and Rose Neal, Cynthia and Bobby Proctor and Mona Lisa and Thomas Faison; sisters-in-law, Minnie Ruth Phillips, Ethel M. and Barbara Neal, Lillie Edwards and Dorothy Neal; and a large host of very special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Carrons Funeral Home, 325 E. Nash St., Wilson. The family will receive friends at the residence and will assemble there at 10 a.m. Friday in preparation for the funeral procession.
