Mrs. Nell Dean Barnes Hatcher, age 80, of 625 Elvie Street, Wilson was called from labor to reward on Thursday, November 1, 2018. A celebration of her life and legacy will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 1 pm at Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church, 305 Lane Street, Wilson. Pastor Keith Robinson will deliver the eulogy, and Elder Elbert Forbes will preside. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Loving memories are forever cherished by her husband, Jerry Lee Hatcher of the home; her daughter, Pamela H. Brown of Dallas, TX; her son, Preston Hatcher (Sonora) of Washington, DC; three sisters, Mavis Williams (Billy Ray) of Augusta, GA, Fannie Brown and Linda Faye Terry of Wilson, NC; two grandchildren, Fumiko Crews and Branog Crews-Boggs (D'Vuhnteyh) of Cleveland, OH; three special friends who were like sisters, Mary L. Jenkins of Tennessee, Janie Locus of Fayetteville, NC and Martha Battle of Wilson, NC; a special niece, Jackie Smith of Wilson, NC; a special friend and road dog, Esther Joyner of Wilson, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Friday from 5 pm to 8:30 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends there from 7 pm to 8 pm. They will receive friends at other times at the residence and will assemble there at 12 noon on Saturday in preparation for the funeral procession.
