Mother Magalene Woodard

Mother Magalene Lewis Woodard, age 82, of 400 West 7th Street, Kenly, North Carolina transitioned into her eternal rest on Monday, March 26, 2018. She was the daughter of Frank Newsome and Lillie Mae Lewis Harris.

A celebration of her life and legacy will be held 11 am Saturday, March 31, 2018 at St. James United Holy Church, 100 N. Main Street, Stantonsburg, North Carolina.  Reverend Ralph Love, Jr. will deliver the eulogy.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street, Wilson.

Magalene was preceded in death by two sisters, Bettie Mae Pitt and Rebecca Britt Burgess.

Precious memories are forever cherished by her sons, Charles Woodard and his wife, Pastor Mamie Woodard of Kenly, NC and Randy Woodard of Sharpsburg; two brothers, Ronnie Lewis of Wilson, NC and James Harris of Goldsboro, NC; two sisters, Connie Barron of Wilson, NC and Mary Daye of Fremont, NC; ; five grandchildren, Ursala Nicholson (Jesse), Eric Harrison (Mahalia), Rosnetta Lucas (William), Miranda Woodard and Dominique Woodard; six great grandchildren, De'Andre, Dylia, Lamonte, Zaquez, Zamiaha and Erica; her goddaughter, Pamela Gardner of Wilson, NC; two sisters-in-law, Carol Harris of Goldsboro, NC and Shelia Woodard of Silver Springs, MD; a host of special friends, Bessie Coe, Rosa Warren and Lula Johnson all of Wilson, NC and Nancy Holmes of Goldsboro, NC, Arvis White and Bishop L. N. Forbes; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held Friday, March 30, 2018 from 3 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home.  The family is receiving friends at the residence and  will assemble there at 9:45 am on Saturday in preparation for the funeral procession.
