Marie Pate Best

Marie Pate Best, age 79, of 2810 Lancaster Rd., Wilson was called to eternal rest on Sunday, November 26, 2017.  She was the daughter of Joe Pate and Mary Kent.  

A celebration of her life will be held 1:30 pm Sunday, December 3, 2017 at L.N. Forbes OFWB Tabernacle 1800 Lane St., Ext., Wilson.  Rev. James Kent will be the eulogist.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. 

Loving memories are cherished by her children, Tommy Best, Jr. of the home, Lorenzo "Bro" Best (Myra) and Janelle Bynum (Jerry) both of Wilson;  three stepchildren, Ronald Williams, Van Williams and Brenda Williams; three sisters, Lillie Eatmon (Elvis), Shirley Hart (Overseer John) and Mary Cooper (Jimmie) all of Wilson; four brothers, Pastor Nathaniel Spells (Yvonne), James Spells (Peggy), Kenneth Spells (Pastor Mable) all of Wilson and Greg Spells (Hazel) of New York; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, her caregiver and niece, Tiffany "NeNe" Pate Kent of Wilson, five godchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 3 pm to 8:30 pm at Carrons Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends there from 7 pm to 8 pm.  They will receive friends at other times at the residence and will assemble there at 12:30 pm on Sunday in preparation for the funeral procession.
