Mr. James Henry "Pone" Artis, age 72, of 444 Jefferson Street, Wilson, North Carolina transitioned to eternal rest on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Contending for the Faith Church Ministries, 1006 Academy St., Wilson, NC.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1717 Bishop L.N. Forbes St., Wilson, NC.  

A book signing will be Friday, Sept. 4, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Carrons Funeral Home, 726 S. Tarboro St., Wilson, NC. The family is receiving friends at 2112 Sandy Creek Dr., Wilson, NC and will assemble there at 12:00 pm on Saturday in preparation for the funeral procession.
