Deacon Elijah Ray Rodgers, age 65, of 2100 Somerset Dr., Wilson was called from labor to reward on Monday, July 15. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 1 pm at Tabernacle Temple of Jesus Christ, 1601 Lane St. Ext., Wilson. Apostle Ricky Locus will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Loving and lasting memories are forever cherished by his wife of forty years, Emma Jean Rodgers of the home; hi daughter, Sharon Dickens Williams (Dennis) of Knightdale, NC; two sisters, Shirley Thomas of Wilson, NC and Eloise Rogers of Washington, DC; one brother, Elder William Earl Rogers (Elder Millernise); two grandsons, Rashed Dickens of Greensboro, NC and Royshaun Dickens of the home; three aunts, Doris Battle, Lois Williams both of Washington, DC and Jean Woodard of Wilson, NC; one uncle, John Woodard (Dezerine) of Wilson, NC; six sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Friday from 3 pm to 7 pm at Carrons Funeral Home, 726 S. Tarboro Street, Wilson. The family is receiving friends at the residence and will assemble there at 12 noon on Saturday in preparation for the funeral procession.
