Bishop Herbert Williams, Jr.

Bishop Herbert "Pete" Williams, Jr., age 69 of Wilson, North Carolina transitioned from labor to reward and called to his eternal rest on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.  A celebration of his life and legacy will begin with a public viewing on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 2 pm to 4 pm at Carrons Funeral Home. Visitation and an inspirational wake will also be held Friday from 6 pm to 8:30 pm at Simon Grove Holiness Church Wilson, North Carolina.  Homegoing service will be on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 11 am at L.N. Forbes Tabernacle, Wilson, North Carolina. Bishop Eloise Sessoms will deliver the eulogy and Vice Bishop Donald Batts will preside.  Interment will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Wilson, North Carolina.

Left to cherish his loving memories are his beloved wife, Kathleen Barnes Williams of Wilson, NC; two daughters, Tammies Johnson and Tina Williams of Wilson, NC; two grandsons, Zyyayre Williams and Lee Williams, III of Wilson, NC; one sister, Barbara Henfield of Wilson, NC; two brothers, Willis Lane (Angela) and Larry Parker of Wilson, NC; three step-sisters, Annie Finch (Adam) of Stantonsburg, NC, Peggy Finch of Atlanta, GA, and Bernice Walker of Trenton, NJ; one aunt, Debora Whitfield of Des Moines, IA; one sister-in-law, Brenda Sutton of Wilson, NC; five brothers-in-law, Ricky Barnes (Sheila) of Raleigh, NC, Randy Barnes, Allen Barnes (Angela), Tommy Barnes (Jessie), and Roger Barnes all of Wilson, NC; his spiritual mother, Bishop Eloise Sessoms of Wilson, NC; his bishop adjutants, Ricky Spell (Pamela) and Melvin Cooper of Wilson, NC; a special friend, Mother Jennie Mae Harris, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, god-children, and friends.
